Meet Ryan "Hezi God" Carter

Ryan Carter grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, playing both basketball and football at Harding High School before starring at Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU), an HBCU, where he was part of two CIAA championship teams (2008, 2009) and racked up over 2,000 passing yards as a quarterback in a single season.

After college, Carter reinvented himself on the streetball circuit as "Hezi God," a nickname earned for his jaw-dropping hesitation moves and acrobatic finishes that made him a viral sensation across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube's Ballislife streetball scene.

Before going viral as a streetball hooper, Carter was a two-sport HBCU athlete at Johnson C. Smith University, playing both basketball and quarterback in football.

BIG3 discovered him through his social media following — Coach Stephen Jackson signed him as a mid-season injury replacement, and he went on to lead all rookies in scoring.
